How Adding Closet Organizers Will Change Your Life

Updated: Feb 4

Most individuals don't realize just how important an organized closet is. Any of our Boston real estate agents at NextHome Titletown can tell you that you should consider adding closet organizers in to your home for a variety of different reasons:

You’ll Save Time

Who wouldn’t love to have a little bit more time in their day? By adding at least one closet organizer into your closet, you will be able to find things more quickly. You will no longer need to rummage through your stuff when you are looking for something. When searching for your next home in Boston, be sure to check each closet and see if there is some sort of organizational system. If there isn’t, and you move forward with placing an offer on that home, you should add closet organizers to the top of your list of projects.

Your Closets Will Seem Bigger

Closets are a vital part of any home. They provide storage, and they can hide unsightly clutter that you don’t want others to see. Closet organizers will make your closets simply appear bigger. When you are looking at Boston real estate, don’t become discouraged if you fall in love with a house that has small closets. The right organization system can provide an adequate amount of closet storage in your next home. Even just one closet organizer in each of your closets can make your closets appear to be larger than they really are.

You Might End Up Saving Money

It’s not uncommon to misplace something only to find it after you’ve already purchased a replacement for it. If you have organized closets, you can keep this from happening. All of your items will be displayed in a way that will allow you to easily locate what you are in need of. You won’t have to root through your belongings in order to find something. By having organized closets, you'll save money by not having to buy items that you already have but aren't able to find.

You’ll Get Rid Of Clutter

Many of us have a lot of clutter stashed in our closets. It can be all too easy to set something in one of your closets, only to forget about it. You can easily combat this with closet organizers. Everything will have a place in your closet. You will be able to go through all of your belongings and get rid of what you don’t need. You will find that it is very freeing to get rid of all of the clutter in your home and have organized closets. (Think Marie Kondo-izing your condo!)

Your Belongings Will Feel More Simplified

Having organized closets will allow you to lead a more simplified life. If you want to organize your closets the right way, starts with closet organizers. You should also hang like clothing items together so that they are easier to find, and will look aesthetically pleasing. Consider switching to all wood-hangers, which you can purchase inexpensively from IKEA or Amazon.com. You will find that getting dressed each day is a lot simpler than it used to be, and it is no longer something that you dread.

At our condo in Boston, where space is at a premium, we had an additional 4 feet of open space above our stackable washer-dryer, and another open area in a closet beneath our interior staircase. We hired a carpenter who we found on Thumbtack to build custom shelves in both areas. $1,500 later after painting = game-changer! We now have plenty of room to store paper goods, large bottles of detergent, our Instant Pot, and other bulky items that were either out in the open or tucked away and forgotten.

Having organized closets can really change your life. The first step is to find that perfect home with the right closets for your needs. When you are looking for your next home in Boston, let one of our Boston Real Estate agents at NextHome Titletown help you find the home of your dreams.
