Mission Hill offers convenient public transportation and views of the Boston City Skylines - all packed into an area less than one square mile.
1. Places to Relax.
Why yes, even though the area is bustling, the neighborhood still has its peaceful social spots worth anyone’s while. One such spot is the Mission Hill Playground, near the Parker Hill Branch of the Boston Public Library System. Another is Kevin W. Fitzgerald Park, where one can wander and enjoy a good stroll.
2. Food and Drink.
Roxbury offers an unprecedented number of restaurants, cafés, and pubs to satisfy any foodie. One such remarkable eatery and pub is the Squealing Pig, where the food is so good you just have to go try it and the atmosphere is classically Boston cozy. Yet the first Saturday of every month and every Thursday at 10 p.m., the pub comes alive with a small old man who will supply you with humbling music and unfiltered, couldn’t careless, commentary between songs.
3. Easy Transportation.
Being located between the Green line, Orange line, and having multiple bus routes running though it, Mission Hill makes a morning commute to work or school one of the easiest in the area surrounding Boston. For example only a few minute walk from “the Hill,” the Orange line Roxbury Crossing stop goes straight into downtown crossing.
4. Staying Fit.
No matter how you like to stay in shape or if you’re thinking of getting in shape, Mission Hill has the answers. For instance if you like CrossFit, the local gym known as CrossFit on the Hill offers classes Monday through Saturday, which stretches from barbells and even Open Gyms.
